PARAMEDIC - FULL TIME 

Eldora-Ackley EMS is hiring a full time Paramedic. This position will provide patients, staff, and the
public, a high standard of patient care, dignity, and respect in both the emergent and non-emergent
care settings. This position will provide safety education and training to our city employees, citizens,
and visitors.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients and provide necessary care ensuring that
documentation is maintained of all medical treatment provided. Assist with various station and
administrative duties as needed including cleaning, maintaining equipment, vehicles, buildings, and
adjacent grounds. Maintains patient confidentiality and performs all cares with respect for patient
rights.

Qualifications include High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required as well as a
current paramedic certification. Must obtain a valid chauffeurs license within 6 months. Have a current
BLS, ALS, and PALS certification and maintain those certifications.

EMT, AMT, PARAMEDIC - PRN

Eldora EMS is a premier emergency medical service provider in Hardin County, Iowa. We cover a response area of over 350 square miles and manage an annual call volume of approximately 1,000 calls for service. With two strategically located stations in Eldora and Ackley, we operate a fleet of 5 ambulances fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment.

What We Offer

    • VOCSN critical care ventilators
    • LUCAS devices
    • Stryker power cots and power loading systems

Position Requirements

GENERAL:

  • Valid Iowa EMS licensure
  • BLS Certification for healthcare providers
  • Valid Iowa driver's license with a chauffeur's endorsement

PARAMEDICS:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Prefer candidates with Critical Care (CCP) endorsement

Responsibilities

  • Timely response to emergency calls
  • Initial patient assessment and emergency medical care
  • Coordination with dispatch and medical facilities
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols and compliance guidelines
