Several locations for the Eldora Veteran's Monument were discussed with input not only from the Committee Members but from the community as well. After careful consideration, a vote was taken by all Committee Members and it was decided to construct the monument at the Memorial Park formerly know as Deer Park which is located East of the Courthouse just before crossing the bridge on Hwy. 175.
The design committee has chosen a design. It's unique and fits the new concept that the city is planning at the park. It has a sculpture with wars listed below it, granite walls that the veterans' name will be placed on, benches to sit and reflect, and plenty of lights. There will be handicap parking available along with access to bathrooms. At the other end will be flag poles. It will be simply beautiful.
